How long do massage bars last?
They all last a very long time, I’ve had mine for about 6 months. As you can guess, these products don’t contain preservatives.
What is a massage bar soap?
Like lotion bars, a massage bar is solid at room temperature and has a similar appearance to a soap bar. There aren’t any cleansers in the bar – only moisturizing ingredients like coconut oil and shea butter or cocoa butter. What makes them really unique, is the lotion bar molds you pour your ingredients into.
How do you store Lush massage bars?
Our solid massage bars were made to melt on contact with skin which means they also melt easily in warmer weather. Keep yours in a cool location to ensure it stays solid.

How long does lush therapy bar last?
Although Therapy isn’t one of my favourites, Lush’s range of solid massage bars do have a long life and will often last for weeks if you’re using it as a moisturiser.
Can you add color to lotion bars?
If you choose to add color, be sure to use a light hand so the finished lotion bar won’t stain skin or clothes. Once you ‘ve added color, if you ‘re going to do so, then next up is scent. Once your color and scent are stirred in, pour the liquid mixture into molds.
How much mica do I put in my lotion bars?
Adding Color to Your Homemade Lotion Bars
- Add 1/2 teaspoon for dark pink.
- Add 1/8 teaspoon for medium pink.
- Add two toothpicks for light pink (dip a toothpick into the powder and stir it into the melted oil – do this twice).
Can I use mica powder in lotion bars?
Stir in the essential oils and mica pigment powder. Add the mica in small quantities until you get the color you desire. Be careful not to add too much or your lotion bar will be super sparkly once applied to the skin. Carefully pop out your lotion bars from the molds.
